Position: IT/Information Security Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering – DevOps, IT, Security and Privacy 

Location: Dublin, Ireland, hybrid onsite 2 days

Salary:  €40,000 – €50,000

About the position:

As an IT/Information Security Engineer at SleepScore Labs, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enhancing our cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with international standards and regulations. As well as this, you will be responsible for assisting SleepScore Labs IT with ongoing requests, maintaining existing systems and onboarding new systems. This role requires a proactive professional with a strong background in IT, cybersecurity, risk management, and incident response, as well as hands-on experience working within Microsoft 365 & ISO 27001 environments.

You’ll Get To:

Security Governance & Compliance:

  • Maintain and enhance the existing cybersecurity framework in line with ISO 27001:2022 requirements.
  • Develop, review, and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Generating required reports related to security, including weekly/monthly key performance indicators (KPIs), key risk indicators (KRIs), project updates, and other relevant metrics.

Risk Management & Vulnerability Assessment:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify security gaps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and improve security controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of internal and external audits.

Incident Response & Threat Management:

  • Monitor security systems and networks for potential threats, breaches, and anomalies.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, remediation, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain an effective threat intelligence program to proactively identify emerging risks.

Security Operations & Continuous Improvement:

  • Oversee the deployment and management of security tools (e.g., SIEM, MDM, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity news, trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to internal teams on security awareness and best practices.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with IT, HR, Engineering, compliance, and business units to integrate security into all aspects of the organization.
  • Act as a key point of contact for security-related inquiries and coordinate with external partners as needed.

IT Operations:

  • Assist with onboarding new employees and providing systems access.
  • Maintenance of existing systems and implementing new systems for use within SleepScore Labs.
  • Working on ad-hoc IT requests from the business.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an information security or cybersecurity role, preferably within an ISO 27001 certified environment.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.) and best practices.
  • Experience working in Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience with risk management, vulnerability assessment, and incident response processes.
  • Familiarity with network security, encryption, identity and access management, and security monitoring tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

We’re Even More Excited If You Have:

  • Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and securing cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and data privacy laws impacting sensitive data management.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM and other security monitoring tools.
  • Prior experience in conducting security training and awareness programs.
