DevOps Engineer -Level 1
- Position: DevOps Engineer
- Reports to: Director of DevOps, IT, Security and Engineering
- Location: Dublin, Ireland (2 days a week onsite)
- Salary: €45,000 – €60,000
About the Position:
SleepScore Labs is looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong technical and engineering skills. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building, deploying, monitoring and scaling our cloud applications – taking them to the next level of performance. As a technical contributor, you will be part of SleepScore Labs’ Engineering team and work closely with developers and QA across platforms. What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for our existing cloud applications.
- Engage with engineering teams to improve the lifecycle of services on our platform – from design to deployment to operations, monitoring, security, upgrade and maintenance.
- Help scale our existing cloud architecture and systems by several orders of magnitude.
- Build automated deployment systems in Azure DevOps to increase the pace and consistency of releases.
- Automate integration tests and code verification tools to ensure that releases maintain a high level of quality.
- Ensure platform uptime is at a maximum using monitoring and alerting tools.
- Ensure application security is always maintained to the highest standards.
- Maintain a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature/techniques, competitor products, and attending scientific seminars and meetings.
- Communicate and present results to the project team and external partner clearly and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Effectively collaborate and handle the progress of cross-functional projects with an efficient use of resources and timelines.
- Must be tolerant to change, ready to take on new challenges and open to learning new skills.
What You’ll Bring:
- 3+ years of experience building and deploying cloud applications.
- Familiarity with different programming languages (C# preferred).
- Ability to work independently and with remote teams.
- Hands on experience with Cloud providers (Azure preferred, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of and experience with Infrastructure as Code principles (ARM, CFN, Terraform, Pulumi).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
- Experience using version control systems (Git).
- Experience with Logging systems (Loggly).
- Experience with Monitoring and alerting systems (Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace).
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with the complete software development life cycle in a production environment, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Experience with various Azure cloud services, including:
- Azure App Services and Azure Function Apps
- Azure SQL databases
- Azure Storage (Tables, Blobs, Queues)
- Azure Data Factory
- Hands-on experience with at least one scripting language (Powershell, bash).
- A working knowledge of SQL Server Administration including T-SQL.
- Experience with data warehousing.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft .NET frameworks and technology stacks.
- NuGet package management experience, including package publishing and feed management.
- Experience with multi-region data separation and privacy rules (GDPR / CCPA).
- Agile/Scrum experience.
- TDD (Test Driven Development) experience.
- Experience with Mobile Application automated deployment (iOS/Android).
