SleepScore Labs Continues Leadership in Applied Sleep Science and Consumer Sleep Technology Space with 5 New Studies and Research Grant Awards

September 28th, 2022

New studies presented at ESRS 2022 bring SleepScore’s total number of conference abstract publications to 22 for the year, tripling research output from 2021

Carlsbad, CA – SleepScore Labs, the company behind the science of sleep improvement, announced 5 new studies to be presented at the 26th Conference of the European Sleep Research Society. The company’s published research has tripled in the last year and plays an important role in advancing knowledge around sleep health as a bridge between academia, public policy, and consumer sleep research.

“Sleep is too important to be left to chance or ignorance,” noted Colin Lawlor, CEO of SleepScore Labs. “Companies know that their customers demand scientific data behind products before they buy. We are delighted to further the cause by bringing evidence-based insights to population sleep health.”

The research focuses on a wide variety of areas, including the impact of race and income on changes in self-reported sleep quality during the COVID-19 pandemic, the association between self-reported electronic device usage and objectively measured sleep in adults, and other emerging topics.

Additionally, in partnership with the Sleep Research Society, SleepScore is excited to announce its winners for their first annual Sleep Research Grant, awarding Dr. Kimberly Honn from Washington State University and Ph.D. Candidate, Kelly Kim, from University of Arizona, the opportunity to utilize SleepScore’s non-contact sleep technology to support their novel and high-impact research efforts. The researchers were selected by SleepScore’s Scientific Advisory Board and sleep science team, including Dr. Elie Gottlieb, Dr. Roy Raymann, Dr. Nate Watson, Dr. Shona Halson, and Dr. Rafael Pelayo.

“Publishing the applied sleep science we preach is key to our strategic and academic partnerships,” said Dr. Elie Gottlieb, Applied Sleep Scientist at SleepScore Labs. “It’s also the backbone of our commitment to improving population sleep health through our partnerships with the world’s leading brands and their consumers that leverage our PSG-validated non-contact sleep measurement technology, big-data, and sleep improvement platform. We’re excited to be a bridge between industry and academia and offer world-class researchers the opportunity to use the SleepScore Max technology to measure objective sleep accurately, longitudinally, and non-invasively in a highly ecologically valid manner.”

The 26th ESRS conference commences September 27th-30th in Athens, Greece. SleepScore’s submitted ESRS study presentations can be viewed here.
